Agents sell the same entitle you can buy on USSD
Changing a MultiChoice bouquet is a new subscription payment on the same smartcard (DStv) or IUC (GOtv). You do not need a neighbourhood kiosk if you have the card number and MoMo. Dial Ewale *714*22#, choose the provider, then the package you want now — not the one you had last year.
Upgrade (Lite → Plus, Compact → Compact Plus, etc.)
- Write down the current package name from the decoder info screen if you have it.
- Dial
*714*22#→ TV bills → DStv or GOtv. - Enter smartcard/IUC. Confirm the name is your household.
- Select the higher bouquet. Read the GHS (upgrades are not a GH₵1 “switch fee”; you pay that package’s price).
- Approve MoMo. Keep the SMS. Reboot after 5–15 minutes.
Picture should unlock the extra channels when entitle completes. If E16 stays on SuperSport only, you are still on a bouquet that does not include that channel.
Downgrade (Premium → Compact, Max → Value)
MultiChoice often lets a cheaper bouquet start at the end of the current paid period, not mid-cycle. If Ewale only offers renewal of the current package, pay that renewal or wait until expiry day, then buy the smaller bouquet. Forcing a downgrade mid-month at an agent is the same rule — they cannot invent leftover credit as cash.
DStv vs GOtv — you cannot “convert” with a PIN
A GOtv IUC is not a DStv smartcard. Switching from GOtv hardware to DStv (or the reverse) is a new decoder/install, not a package change on Ewale. Package change = same box, different bouquet.
When you still need MultiChoice, not an agent
- New decoder pairing (E48 after a swap).
- ExtraView add-on setup.
- Account name/ownership change.
Those are customer-care jobs. Everyday upgrade/renew is USSD. Related: DStv packages 2026, GOtv Value and Plus, GOtv Lite.
