Is the NOVDEC Checker the Same as the WASSCE Voucher?

Direct answer

On Ewale, WASSCE and Nov-Dec share the Results Vouchers option 2. The difference is how you check: Private vs School on ghana.waecdirect.org.

NOVDEC / WASSCE Private — Ghana 2026

Written for people confused by menu labels. Buy authorised checkers on Ewale *714*22# when you need a voucher. Check only on WAEC’s official portals.

Vital context for “NOVDEC checker same as WASSCE”

BECE is option 1 and a different PIN length/portal. Do not buy BECE for NOVDEC to “save money.”

NOVDEC / private WASSCE — what the checker is for

NOVDEC is Ghana’s private / second-sitting WASSCE (dates sit around November–December; series names change). You write to upgrade grades or to sit as a private candidate. Results still live on ghana.waecdirect.org under WASSCE (Private) — not the BECE portal.

The voucher you buy on Ewale as “WASSCE / Nov-Dec” is the same product family as school WASSCE checkers: Serial + PIN, typically three uses. Exam type on the portal must be Private if that is how WAEC registered you. School vs Private mismatch is the usual “no results” after a valid PIN.

Buy the voucher

*714*22# → 5 → 2 (WASSCE / Nov-Dec) → MoMo → SMS.
Portal: ghana.waecdirect.org → WASSCE (Private) → year you sat → index → PIN → Serial.

Advice that actually helps

Buy option 2. Check Private. If you also need school WASSCE from a previous year, you may use another check with School + that year — uses decrement.

The expensive mistake: BECE 10-digit PIN on WASSCE private form.

After the grades are on the screen

Keep SMS labelled NOVDEC.

Menu 5-2.
12-digit PIN typical.
Portal exam type Private.

Protect the child and the voucher

Do not paste Serial + PIN in a class or church group.
Do not pay a site that is not ghana.waecdirect.org (or the matching official WAEC Ghana property).
Do not buy a second voucher until you have re-typed the first SMS and confirmed the exam type and year.
Schools should not harvest student PINs “for the office file.” The three uses belong to the candidate.

Stuck after a real debit? Ewale support with the MoMo reference. WAEC grading disputes go to WAEC Ghana, not Ewale.
