Direct answer

Same exam body, different candidacy and calendar. School WASSCE is the SHS diet; NOVDEC is private. Portals: both ghana.waecdirect.org with different exam-type dropdowns.

NOVDEC / WASSCE Private — Ghana 2026

Written for people using the names interchangeably. Buy authorised checkers on Ewale *714*22# when you need a voucher. Check only on WAEC’s official portals.

Vital context for “NOVDEC vs WASSCE”

Checkers on Ewale share the WASSCE/Nov-Dec product. You still must pick School or Private correctly or you get no results.

NOVDEC / private WASSCE — what the checker is for

NOVDEC is Ghana’s private / second-sitting WASSCE (dates sit around November–December; series names change). You write to upgrade grades or to sit as a private candidate. Results still live on ghana.waecdirect.org under WASSCE (Private) — not the BECE portal.

The voucher you buy on Ewale as “WASSCE / Nov-Dec” is the same product family as school WASSCE checkers: Serial + PIN, typically three uses. Exam type on the portal must be Private if that is how WAEC registered you. School vs Private mismatch is the usual “no results” after a valid PIN.

Buy the voucher

  1. *714*22# → 5 → 2 (WASSCE / Nov-Dec) → MoMo → SMS.
  2. Portal: ghana.waecdirect.org → WASSCE (Private) → year you sat → index → PIN → Serial.

Advice that actually helps

Speak precisely with admissions offices: “2025 School + 2026 Private.” That sentence matters more than slang.

The expensive mistake: Checking private results as School because “it is all WASSCE.”

After the grades are on the screen

Two PDFs, labelled. Never merge with Photoshop.

  • Label folders by sitting.
  • Two indexes possibly.
  • Combination brochure.

Protect the child and the voucher

  • Do not paste Serial + PIN in a class or church group.
  • Do not pay a site that is not ghana.waecdirect.org (or the matching official WAEC Ghana property).
  • Do not buy a second voucher until you have re-typed the first SMS and confirmed the exam type and year.
  • Schools should not harvest student PINs “for the office file.” The three uses belong to the candidate.

Stuck after a real debit? Ewale support with the MoMo reference. WAEC grading disputes go to WAEC Ghana, not Ewale.

FAQ — NOVDEC vs WASSCE

Is NOVDEC inferior?

WAEC standard is WAEC. Snobbery is not a grading rule. Institutions may still prefer one sitting.

One checker both?

Each view is one candidate record. Two sittings, two checks, possibly two vouchers if uses run out.

BECE has NOVDEC?

No. This is WASSCE private.
