Direct answer

NOVDEC is the private WASSCE sitting associated with November–December. People use it to upgrade school WASSCE grades or to sit as private candidates. Results are not on the BECE portal.

NOVDEC / WASSCE Private — Ghana 2026

Written for sHS leavers and adult learners. Buy authorised checkers on Ewale *714*22# when you need a voucher. Check only on WAEC’s official portals.

Vital context for “what is NOVDEC Ghana”

It is still WAEC. Registration is through authorised private centres. Results: ghana.waecdirect.org, exam type Private. Checker: Ewale WASSCE/Nov-Dec voucher.

NOVDEC / private WASSCE — what the checker is for

NOVDEC is Ghana’s private / second-sitting WASSCE (dates sit around November–December; series names change). You write to upgrade grades or to sit as a private candidate. Results still live on ghana.waecdirect.org under WASSCE (Private) — not the BECE portal.

The voucher you buy on Ewale as “WASSCE / Nov-Dec” is the same product family as school WASSCE checkers: Serial + PIN, typically three uses. Exam type on the portal must be Private if that is how WAEC registered you. School vs Private mismatch is the usual “no results” after a valid PIN.

Buy the voucher

  1. *714*22# → 5 → 2 (WASSCE / Nov-Dec) → MoMo → SMS.
  2. Portal: ghana.waecdirect.org → WASSCE (Private) → year you sat → index → PIN → Serial.

Advice that actually helps

Register only at recognised centres. If you are upgrading, know which universities accept combined sittings before you pay fees. NOVDEC is work, not a miracle sticker.

The expensive mistake: Paying a “special NOVDEC centre” that guarantees A1.

After the grades are on the screen

When results drop, check as Private with a new checker. Keep the school WASSCE slip too if combining.

  • Ask GES/WAEC-recognised status.
  • Budget tuition + later checker.
  • English and Maths first if those blocked you.

Protect the child and the voucher

  • Do not paste Serial + PIN in a class or church group.
  • Do not pay a site that is not ghana.waecdirect.org (or the matching official WAEC Ghana property).
  • Do not buy a second voucher until you have re-typed the first SMS and confirmed the exam type and year.
  • Schools should not harvest student PINs “for the office file.” The three uses belong to the candidate.

Stuck after a real debit? Ewale support with the MoMo reference. WAEC grading disputes go to WAEC Ghana, not Ewale.
