There is no live public kWh website for every meter
ECG does not offer a Google-style page where you type a meter number and stream live watts. “Usage online” in Ghana means logged-in Power App / self-service, SMS receipts, and USSD balance plus what you read on the meter. Sites that ask for your MoMo PIN to “show units” are not ECG.
Prepaid — online-ish options
- ECG Power App: add the meter, open history. You see purchases and sometimes units. It needs data and a working login. It will not replace the LCD for remaining credit after today’s cooking.
- Ewale:
*714*22#Check Balance and SMS tokens. Good for remaining credit and kWh on each receipt, not a 24-hour load curve. - SMS folder: add kWh from each token over a month for a DIY usage log.
Postpaid — bill as usage proxy
The monthly bill lists billed kWh for the period. Check that bill via Power App, *226#, or paper — see check ECG bill online. Pay outstanding on Ewale postpaid when you know the amount.
Best accuracy is still the meter
Photograph kWh/credit weekly. Online tools lag and omit appliances. For how to read the screen: check power consumption.
