Direct answer
*110# is the wallet shortcode for two of Ghana’s big telcos: Telecel Cash (Telecel Ghana, formerly Vodafone) and AT Money (AirtelTigo). The SIM you dial from chooses the menu. There is no clash in the numbering plan — the operator network, not the digits, is the switch. Ranked #3 in the top 5 company shortcodes because together these wallets are everything that is not MTN MoMo.
*110# by SIM
Telecel SIM → Telecel Cash. AT SIM → AT Money. MTN SIM → this is the wrong code; MTN is *170#.
Airtime is still *124# on both. Data is not *110#.
USSD option numbers move when a company ships a new menu. Trust the on-screen label (Send money, Pay bill, Check balance), not a screenshot from 2023. If a path in this guide does not match what you see, follow the live menu.
Why both companies use *110#
Ghana’s short-code space is assigned by the NCA. Wallet USSD is operator-hosted: when you press call, the request goes to your home network. Telecel and AT each implemented their mobile-money gateway on *110#. MTN standardised on *170# years earlier and kept it. You do not “enter Telecel’s *110# on MTN” — MTN will either reject it or open something that is not Telecel Cash.
Prefixes lie after mobile number portability. A 020 that ported to MTN will not open Telecel Cash on *110#. A 024 that ported to Telecel will not open *170#. Ask “which network is this SIM on today?” or let Ewale lookup show it before you buy data.

Searching “Vodafone Cash code” in 2026 still means Telecel Cash *110#. The brand changed; the wallet code did not.
What to do on *110#
Labels differ slightly between Telecel and AT. You should still find:
- Send money — to a wallet number. Confirm the displayed name.
- Pay / merchant / bills — tills, some utilities. ECG official USSD remains
*226#; water official remains*1010#. - Airtime — usually own-network. Cross-network airtime is Ewale
*714*22#. - Withdraw / agent — cash out. Agent never needs your PIN.
- My account — balance, statement, PIN. On many Telecel menus this has sat near option 6; on many AT menus near option 5. If those digits are wrong on your SIM, use the label.
AT-specific notes
AT (AirtelTigo) still vends airtime and bundles on live SIMs even while corporate rumours come and go. If Ewale lookup says the number is AT, buy AT. If it says Telecel or MTN, the line has ported — *110# on a friend’s AT phone will not load that destination’s data. Operator buy menu: *111#. Data balance: *504#. Data share, where offered: *585#.
Telecel-specific notes
Telecel Play and *700# assume a Telecel line. Non-expiry / “2 Moorch” packs are a Telecel product people search as Vodafone data. Wallet (*110#) and bundle (*700#) are siblings, not substitutes. After you buy data on Ewale into a Telecel number, the recipient checks GB on *126#, not on your *110#.

Paying bills from *110#
You can walk Pay Bill until you see ECG, Ghana Water, or DSTV. It works when the biller is listed and the session holds. It is a longer tree than company USSD, and it is a longer tree than Ewale if you are settling two utilities. Practical rule:
- One ECG token, Telecel Cash already open — *226# or *110# bill-pay, your choice.
- ECG + water + GoTV before a trip —
*714*22#once. - P2P send to a person — stay on *110#. Ewale does not replace person-to-person MoMo.
Failures that look like a “wrong code”
- Dialled *110# on MTN. Wrong company. Use *170#.
- Ported SIM. Prefix 027 is not proof of AT.
- Empty wallet vs empty airtime. *124# at zero does not mean *110# is empty, and the reverse is true. Cash-in the wallet at an agent if sends fail with insufficient funds while you still have call credit.
- PIN retry lock. Stop guessing. Official reset, not a Facebook “agent.”
FAQ — *110#
Is *110# the same as *170#?
Same job (mobile money), different company. *170# is MTN only.
Can I open both Telecel Cash and AT Money by dialling *110# twice?
No. One SIM, one wallet. Dual-SIM phones: pick the SIM selector before you dial, or you will debit the wrong wallet.
Does *110# work without internet?
Yes. USSD uses signalling, not your data bundle. A finished Telecel bundle does not block *110#.
How do I buy AT data with Telecel Cash?
Not on *111# from a Telecel line. Dial Ewale *714*22# → Data → AirtelTigo, pay with the Telecel Cash prompt.
