Buy ECG Prepaid With Telecel Cash
Telecel Cash (still searched as Vodafone Cash) can pay for ECG prepaid tokens. You do not need a Telecel-only ECG menu. On Ewale the wallet prompt follows the SIM you dial from — a Telecel SIM opens Telecel Cash.
Fastest path: dial *714*22# → Utilities → ECG → Prepaid → meter number → amount → approve Telecel Cash PIN.
What you need
- A phone on Telecel Ghana (porting matters more than the 020 prefix).
- Enough Telecel Cash balance (check with
*110#). - The 11- or 13-digit meter number on the meter label — not your postpaid account number.
Step by step on Ewale
- Dial
*714*22#and press Call. - Select Utilities, then ECG Power, then Prepaid.
- Enter the meter number. Confirm the account name shown before you pay.
- Enter the amount in GHS (minimum GH₵1 on Ewale).
- Approve the Telecel Cash prompt with your PIN.
- Wait for the SMS with the 20-digit STS token. Enter it on the meter keypad.
Same flow works on Ewale web checkout if you have data. USSD is better when lights and data fail together.
Telecel *110# bill pay vs Ewale
*110# can open wallet bill-pay, but menus change and token SMS is often slower. ECG’s own *226# also works from a Telecel line when the ECG vend is up. Use Ewale when you want one short path, account-name check, and support if the token SMS is late.
Common Telecel Cash issues
- Prompt never arrives: confirm the SIM is still on Telecel (not ported to MTN). Retry once; do not pay twice.
- Insufficient balance: cash in, then retry. The token is generated only after a successful debit.
- Wrong meter: stop. Screenshot the confirmation. Contact Ewale via USSD Support before a second purchase.
